A review of tailings dams risks

We published a review of the risks posed by the failure of tailings dams in a report, available from our resources section.

This report provides

  • an overview of risks associated to tailings dams,
  • monitoring regulatory frameworks worldwide,
  • current monitoring methods and techniques,
  • examples of tailings dams failures, ranging from Val di Stava in Italy that occurred in 1985 until the most recent one in Sulliden Shauindo, Peru in 2018. 

The report has a special section dedicated to Peru, where our product DAMSAT will be tested and applied.
